Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how JIHAN PARIS collects, uses, stores and shares personal data when you visit www.fromjihan.com (the "Site"), place an order, subscribe to our communications, or otherwise interact with us (together, the "Services"). It also explains your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French data-protection law.

This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you about our data practices. It does not ask you to consent to every form of processing described below. Where consent is legally required, including for email marketing and non-essential cookies, we will request it separately.

1. Who is responsible for your personal data

JIHAN PARIS is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy.

Legal name: JIHAN PARIS, Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS)

Registered office: 25-27 rue Tronchet, 75008 Paris, France

Privacy contact: shop@fromjihan.com

2. Personal data we collect

The personal data we collect depends on how you interact with JIHAN.

Information you provide directly

Contact details, including your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.

Order and transaction details, including the products purchased, order value, delivery method, returns, refunds and payment status. JIHAN does not ordinarily receive or store your complete payment-card details.

Checkout information submitted through Shopify, Shop Pay, PayPal, Klarna or another payment option presented at checkout.

Marketing preferences, including whether you have subscribed to or unsubscribed from email communications.

Customer-service communications, including information you provide when contacting us about an order, return, product or complaint.

Information collected automatically

Technical and usage information, such as your IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, approximate location, pages viewed, referral source and interactions with the Site.

Cookie and similar-technology data, including identifiers used to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure performance and, where you consent, analyse use of the Site and email engagement.

Information received from third parties

We may receive personal data from service providers involved in providing the Services, including Shopify, Shop Pay, payment providers, DHL, Mailchimp and Google Analytics. For example, a payment provider may confirm whether a transaction was authorised, and DHL may provide delivery or return status information.

3. How and why we use personal data

We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis under applicable data-protection law.

To process and fulfil orders, take payment, arrange delivery, administer returns and refunds, and provide order-related support. The lawful basis is performance of our contract with you.

To communicate with you about enquiries, purchases, deliveries, returns, product issues or complaints. The lawful basis is performance of our contract or our legitimate interest in providing effective customer service.

To keep financial, accounting, customs and tax records and respond to lawful requests from authorities. The lawful basis is compliance with our legal obligations.

To prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents and other unlawful activity, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The lawful basis is our legal obligations and legitimate interests in protecting JIHAN, our customers and the Site.

To operate, troubleshoot, secure and improve the Site and understand general service performance. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest where the processing is necessary and proportionate; consent is used where required for cookies or similar technologies.

To send email marketing and measure engagement with those communications. The lawful basis is your consent, except where applicable law permits communications to existing customers about similar JIHAN products and you have been offered a clear opportunity to object.

4. Email marketing

If you subscribe to JIHAN email marketing, we use Mailchimp to manage our mailing list and send communications. Mailchimp may process your email address, subscription status and information about how you interact with our emails, such as opens and link clicks, where permitted and subject to your choices.

You may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting shop@fromjihan.com. Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending essential non-marketing messages about an order, payment, delivery, return or customer-service request.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site. Strictly necessary cookies support functions such as security, checkout, payments, delivery preferences and fraud prevention and do not require consent where they are essential to provide a service you request.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve its performance. We may also use Mailchimp cookies, pixels or tracked links to measure engagement with subscription forms and email communications. Non-essential analytics and marketing technologies are not intended to be activated before you provide consent.

You can accept, reject or adjust non-essential cookies through the cookie controls available on the Site. You may withdraw your consent at any time. You can also manage cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may affect Site functionality.

We generally retain your cookie-consent choice for up to six months before asking again, unless a change to the Site or applicable requirements makes an earlier request appropriate. Analytics information is retained according to our configured provider settings and for no longer than necessary. Where Google Analytics event-level retention is configurable by JIHAN, it is set to no more than 14 months.

6. When we share personal data

We share personal data only where necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including with:

Shopify, which hosts and powers the online store, and Shop Pay, where you choose accelerated checkout.

Shopify Payments and payment options offered at checkout, including PayPal and Klarna, to process payments, perform fraud checks and provide the payment service you select.

DHL, to arrange shipment, tracking, delivery and returns.

Mailchimp, to manage email subscriptions, distribute marketing communications and provide related reporting.

Google Analytics, where you consent, to provide audience-measurement and Site-usage analytics.

Professional advisers and service providers, such as accountants, legal advisers, technology providers and security providers, where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate obligations.

Courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, tax authorities or other public authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

A prospective purchaser, investor or successor in connection with a genuine corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.

Some providers, particularly payment providers such as PayPal and Klarna, may also process personal data as independent data controllers under their own privacy notices. Their services are governed by the terms and privacy information presented when you choose them.

JIHAN does not sell your personal data.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process personal data outside France or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred to a country that has not been recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, together with supplementary measures where required.

Information about the safeguards used by a particular provider may also be available in that provider's privacy notice. You may contact us for further information about safeguards applicable to JIHAN's transfers.

8. How long we retain personal data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.

Order, payment and invoicing records: for the duration of the commercial relationship and then, where required as accounting evidence, for up to 10 years.

General commercial and contractual records: ordinarily for up to five years after the end of the relevant relationship, unless a longer period is legally required or necessary for a legal claim.

Customer-service correspondence: for the time needed to resolve the request and ordinarily for up to five years afterwards where required to document the relationship or manage a dispute.

Email-marketing data: while you remain subscribed and, unless consent is renewed or another lawful basis applies, for up to three years after your last purchase or meaningful interaction. We may retain minimal suppression information after you unsubscribe to ensure we respect your choice.

Cookie and analytics data: for the period disclosed in our cookie controls or configured within the relevant service, subject to the limits described above.

Data may be retained for longer where required by law, or if you do not inform us to delete your data, or an authority, litigation hold or an ongoing legal claim. When data is no longer required, it is deleted, anonymised or securely archived with restricted access.

9. Your rights

Subject to the conditions and limitations in applicable law, you may have the right to:

Request access to your personal data and information about how it is processed.

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Request deletion of your personal data.

Request restriction of processing.

Object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You have an absolute right to object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing.

Receive certain personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, or request its transfer to another controller where technically feasible.

Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

Provide instructions concerning the use of your personal data after your death, where provided by French law.

To exercise your rights, email shop@fromjihan.com. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

10. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use personal data, please contact us first at shop@fromjihan.com so that we can try to resolve them.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL), the French data-protection authority, through www.cnil.fr, or with the competent supervisory authority in the country where you live or work.

11. Payment decisions and automated processing

JIHAN does not itself make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you solely by automated means. Payment providers, including Klarna, may conduct automated identity, eligibility, credit or fraud assessments when you choose their services. Those activities are governed by the relevant provider's privacy notice and terms.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure or access. No system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive payment or identity information through ordinary email.

13. Children's data

The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children in circumstances requiring parental authorisation. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us improperly, please contact shop@fromjihan.com.

14. Third-party websites

The Site may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties. JIHAN is not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy notices before providing personal data.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, providers, the Site or applicable law. We will publish the revised version on the Site and update the date shown above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request fresh consent.
